Ameren Missouri's Smart Energy Plan continues the company's work throughout its service territory to update and modernize the electric grid, making it more resilient and reliable. Created by forward-thinking legislation passed by the Missouri General Assembly in 2018 and renewed in 2022, the Smart Energy Plan has spurred thousands of grid modernization projects – supporting greater reliability from Kirksville to Miner and St. Louis to Excelsior Springs.

Ameren supports Heat Up St. Louis
Efforts include donation and assistance during annual Hardee's Rise and Shine Event
As a part of Heat Up St. Louis' 25th annual Hardee's Rise and Shine event on Feb. 14, Ameren once again joined forces with the organization to help those struggling with their utility bills. Founded in 2000, Heat Up St. Louis Inc. is a nonprofit organization aiming to help the elderly, disabled and low-income families throughout the bi-state region with energy assistance. In addition to a $200,000 donation from the company, Ameren team members volunteered during the Rise and Shine event to raise awareness and financial support for the nonprofit's efforts throughout the area.

Missouri Senate approves Power Predictability and Reliability Act
Legislation encouraging investment in reliable electric generation receives bipartisan approval
By a 22-11 vote, the Missouri Senate put its stamp of approval on a wide-ranging utility bill. Made up of more than 20 components, Senate Bill 4 includes language establishing the Power Predictability and Reliability Act. To ensure the state's utility companies can continue to meet the needs of their customers and maintain the state's status as an affordable and attractive place to do business, the measure aims to reduce the disincentives energy companies face when investing in new, on-demand power plants.

Since 2019, BBC Electric has played a key role in Ameren Missouri’s Smart Energy Plan. The Joplin-based company has helped implement critical infrastructure upgrades that have strengthened service and improved resiliency throughout the state.
