Ameren supports Heat Up St. Louis
Efforts include donation and assistance during annual Hardee's Rise and Shine Event
As a part of Heat Up St. Louis' 25th annual Hardee's Rise and Shine event on Feb. 14, Ameren once again joined forces with the organization to help those struggling with their utility bills. Founded in 2000, Heat Up St. Louis Inc. is a nonprofit organization aiming to help the elderly, disabled and low-income families throughout the bi-state region with energy assistance. In addition to a $200,000 donation from the company, Ameren team members volunteered during the Rise and Shine event to raise awareness and financial support for the nonprofit's efforts throughout the area.
On Feb. 14, volunteers collected donations at Hardee's restaurants throughout the St. Louis metro area in support of Heat Up St. Louis.
"We are proud to be part of this effort to support Heat Up St. Louis as it works to help those struggling during the cold winter months," said Mark Birk, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri. "At Ameren, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve as it is an important part of our culture."
The company's donation was funded by shareholders and not Ameren ratepayers. For more information on Heat Up St. Louis, please visit heatupstlouis.org.
