Ameren Missouri reaches reliability milestone amid historic storm season

Missouri has been impacted by severe weather in 2025, including ice storms, high winds and tornado outbreaks. Despite the devastation to communities and damage to electric infrastructure, Ameren Missouri has reached a new milestone in customer reliability. Smart switch technology, a key element of the company’s Smart Energy Plan, automatically prevented more than 150,000 outages during major storm events in the first six months of 2025. This is more than double the company’s previous yearly high set in 2023.

Energy leaders commit to explore the Show-Me State's energy future at Missouri Nuclear Summit

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with Gov. Mike Kehoe, the National Governors Association and the U.S. Department of Energy, hosted the Missouri Nuclear Summit on July 17, on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Missouri's first nuclear summit, the event attracted more than 550 technical experts, lawmakers, local leaders, stakeholders and others to join in a broad conversation about the future of energy, specifically nuclear, in Missouri.

Ameren Missouri unveils plans to build new hybrid energy center

Ameren Missouri announces it is taking the next step in its generation investment plan by filing an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission to build a new energy center in Jefferson County. The application involves the construction of an 800-megawatt (MW) simple-cycle natural gas generation plant, in addition to Ameren Missouri's first large-scale battery storage facility at one location. Known as the Big Hollow Energy Center, the new facility is designed to efficiently meet increased energy demands while ensuring grid resiliency.
