Veterans Fund receives significant boost to assist Missouri military families

Ameren Missouri and United Way to provide $200,000 in energy assistance funds

Ameren Missouri recently announced an additional $200,000 donation to help active-duty military, veterans and their families when they face challenges paying their energy bills. These funds are available through United Way 211.

Since launching in 2018, the Ameren Missouri Veterans Fund has assisted more than 650 veteran and military families.

"Through our long-standing partnership with Ameren Missouri, United Way 211 has been able to help even more military families and veterans meet their basic needs,” said Michelle Tucker, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “We’re proud and grateful for this program so that we can further assist those who have served and protected our country.”

Eligible customers who are past due, have disconnected service or are in threat of disconnection can apply to receive up to $600 per household. To qualify, they must have proof of veteran or active-duty military status. Interested applicants should call United Way 211 at 2-1-1 or 1-800-427-4626 to apply.

"The good news is that more assistance is available than ever before for military families,” said Joe Solari, vice president of customer experience for Ameren. “Our hope is that these funds will provide some relief to the men and women who protect and serve our nation.”
