Amazon to build new delivery station in Scott City
Project marks Amazon's first operational facility in southeast Missouri
Amazon is planning to build a new 61,000-square-foot, last-mile delivery station in the new SEMO Industrial Park in Scott City, Missouri. The new facility will streamline the company’s logistics in southeast Missouri, enhancing delivery services in Cape Girardeau, Scott and surrounding counties. Through the project, Amazon will invest $15 million in capital and create 70 new jobs for the area. This will be Amazon’s 17th operational facility in Missouri and the first in the southeast part of the state.

Ameren Missouri worked closely with Amazon, Southeast Missouri Regional Economic Development Inc. (SEMO REDI) and other local organizations for more than six months to bring this project to fruition. To meet the needs of Amazon and the SEMO Industrial Park, Ameren Missouri upgraded the area's electric infrastructure, building a new three-phase feeder to ensure reliable service for years to come.
“It is our pleasure to partner with Amazon as they continue to grow in the Show-Me State,” said Tara Oglesby, vice president, energy solutions and business development for Ameren Missouri. “This effort is a great example of Ameren Missouri’s commitment to ongoing partnerships with businesses, economic development agencies and others to bring significant investments to our service territory.”
Located on the northern edge of Scott City, the 380-acre SEMO Industrial Park offers prime access to major transportation routes like Interstate 55, Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority. According to SEMO REDI, infrastructure work at the industrial park began in mid-2023 and is expected to finish later in August, ensuring businesses have shovel-ready parcels from 5 to 20-plus acres.
