Ameren Missouri’s energy assistance programs still available
Ameren Missouri recognizes the COVID-19 pandemic has made it harder for many of its customers to make ends meet and is stepping up to help.
Over the last few months, Ameren Missouri has allocated more than $5 million in energy assistance dollars to provide some relief to eligible residential and business customers who need help paying their energy bill.
In addition to Ameren Missouri assistance programs, there are a variety of state and federal programs also available. Customers are encouraged to visit Ameren's energy assistance webpage to find a program that works best for their family or business.
Programs and benefits offered include:
The Ameren Missouri COVID-19 Clean Slate program can help clear a customer’s account balance after the customer pays 25% of what is owed.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is offering up to $600 to help income-eligible Missourians pay their energy bills, double the amount previously provided.
Ameren Missouri COVID-19 Small Business Relief program, in partnership with the United Way, began accepting applications for $500,000 in energy assistance to support eligible locally-owned small business customers. Businesses and non-profits with less than 50 employees can receive a $250 credit on their energy bill.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) will provide up to $30 million to small businesses financially impacted by the pandemic. Up to $50,000 grants will be made available to eligible applicants with 50 or fewer employees and who meet other eligibility requirements. Retailers, family-owned farms and farm corporations, food service, lodging, health care and other small businesses are encouraged to apply.
