New Ameren Missouri operating center supports St. Francois County and beyond

Ameren Missouri recently opened a new, state-of-the-art operating center in Park Hills. The new St. Francois Operating Center is a substantial upgrade to area operations, supporting faster restoration times and greater reliability for customers throughout the county and the state. The new facility replaces the existing operating center in Park Hills, which has been in service for more than 60 years.

Lawmakers experience behind-the-scenes tour of Callaway Energy Center

During its latest refueling outage, members of the Missouri General Assembly went behind the scenes at the Callaway Energy Center to learn more about the plant and its role in Ameren Missouri's generation fleet. The only nuclear power plant in Missouri, the 1,284 MW-generating energy center was declared operational in 1984. Every 18 months, the nuclear plant undergoes a refueling outage, allowing crews to complete preventative and corrective maintenance on the reactor, refuel the unit and carry out other tasks intended to ensure the plant runs as efficiently as possible.

State of Missouri selected for nuclear summit

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently announced the state has been selected by the National Governor's Association (NGA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to convene an in-state nuclear summit. The goal of the summit is to create the momentum needed to transform existing conceptual plans for new nuclear generation into definitive and actional projects.
