Missouri's 2024 Primary Election - Make Your Voice Heard

Voters to consider candidates for office and several proposed constitutional amendments on August ballot

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, voters throughout Missouri will head to the polls for the state's primary election. When voters enter their polling place on Election Day, they will be asked to make decisions on several local, state and federal races, in addition to two proposed changes to the Missouri Constitution.

Beginning July 23 until the day before Election Day, voters may cast a no-excuse absentee ballot in person at a location designated by their local election authority.

For those planning to vote on Election Day, polling places throughout the state will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is important to remember if you are in line when the polls close at 7:00 p.m., you have the right to cast your vote — no matter your place in line. Additionally, voters are required to show a valid, photo ID before voting. If a voter does not have a photo ID, they are allowed to cast a provisional ballot. These ballots will be counted if the voter returns to their polling place on Election Day with a valid, photo ID; or if the signature on their provisional ballot envelop is determined by the local election authority to match the signature on their voter registration record.
