Ameren supports Heat Up St. Louis

Efforts include donation and co-worker volunteers participating in the 24th annual Hardee's Rise and Shine event

As a part of Heat Up St. Louis' annual Hardee's Rise and Shine event on Feb. 9, Ameren once again joined forces to assist the organization helping families pay their energy bills. Founded in 2000, Heat Up St. Louis Inc. is a nonprofit organization aiming to help the elderly, disabled and low-income families with energy assistance throughout the bi-state region. Ameren's donation included a cash contribution, as well as weatherization efforts that help support the organization's ongoing programs.

Volunteers from Ameren Missouri and several other organizations assisted during the Rise and Shine event to help collect donations and raise awareness of the work being done by Heat Up St. Louis to help those in need. At the Hardee's location in Pacific, Missouri, volunteers were joined by Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe to help support the work of Heat Up St. Louis.

“I was proud to support Heat Up St. Louis during their annual event on Feb. 9," said Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe. "When temperatures drop, Missourians shouldn't have to choose between putting food on the table or paying for life-saving medicine and turning their heat on. I am thankful for Missouri companies, like Ameren Missouri, who are committed to helping those in our community stay safe and warm during the winter months."

The company's donation was funded by shareholders and not Ameren ratepayers. For more information on Heat Up St. Louis, please visit heatupstlouis.org.
