General Assembly celebrates Missouri Lineworker Appreciation Day

Monday, April 13, marked Missouri Lineworker Appreciation Day throughout the Show-Me State. In 2015, the Missouri General Assembly passed legislation to designate the second Monday in April as Missouri Lineworker Appreciation Day. As a part of this year's event, lineworkers from throughout the Show-Me State traveled to the State Capitol to visit with lawmakers and be recognized for their efforts in keeping Missouri's electric grid safe, secure and reliable.

"Our state's lineworkers are an impressive group of individuals, and I am thankful for their hard work and willingness to put themselves in harm's way to keep our power on," said Rep. Steve Butz, D-St. Louis. "These individuals are dedicated to their craft, often working long hours in dangerous conditions to ensure Missourians have access to reliable energy, no matter the situation."

Eight Ameren Missouri lineworkers joined their colleagues from throughout the state in Jefferson City to be recognized and celebrated for their efforts. Their day at the State Capitol included a behind-the-scenes tour of the building, visits with lawmakers and recognition in the House and Senate. In appreciation of the dedication and hard work of every Ameren Missouri lineworker, Rep. Butz presented those in attendance with a House resolution. In the Missouri Senate, Sen. Mike Henderson, R-Desloge, presented a similar resolution to the Ameren Missouri team members attending the day's events.
