From caulk to insulation: Ameren Missouri bolsters weatherization program
Company adds $1 million to help customers keep homes comfortable
Ameren Missouri announces an additional $1 million in weatherization assistance to provide energy-saving home improvements, at no cost, for qualifying homeowners and renters. Throughout 2024, Ameren Missouri has delivered more than $2 million to support weatherization improvements, including caulking, weather stripping, water heater jackets, insulation and more.
"Customers in need of assistance can take advantage of these funds right away to upgrade their living spaces and start saving on their energy costs,” said Page Selby, manager of customer advocacy for Ameren Missouri. “We also encourage customers to apply for our energy assistance programs for additional support.”
Guidelines for program eligibility include household incomes up to 200% of the federal poverty level. For example, a four-person household with a monthly income up to $5,200 is eligible to apply.
Other assistance programs available include Ameren Missouri's Keeping Current program. This initiative helps customers with paying their energy bills. It includes a monthly bill credit between $35 and $90, along with help to reduce the total amount owed.
Participants in Ameren Missouri’s Keeping Current program, along with elderly and disabled persons, are given preference for the company’s weatherization assistance program. The maximum assistance, including labor and materials, varies depending on the project. Visit AmerenMissouri.com/EnergyAssistance to learn more.
