Lawmakers tour Osage Energy Center

Members of the Missouri General Assembly receive an in-depth look at Ameren's operations at Lake of the Ozarks

On Thursday, Sept. 14, lawmakers and staff toured the Osage Energy Center at Lake of the Ozarks. Completed in 1931, the Osage Energy Center is a major source of renewable energy for Ameren Missouri customers. During the tour, lawmakers learned about the history of the plant, its operations and the role it plays within Ameren's generation fleet.

Bradley Todd, manager of operations at the Osage Energy Center, discusses the plant's operations with members of the Missouri General Assembly

"I am thankful for the opportunity to tour this important facility within my Senate district," said Sen. Mike Bernskoetter, R-Jefferson City. “Every time I drive over Bagnell Dam, I am constantly reminded of Ameren Missouri’s impact on Mid-Missouri. From providing reliable electricity for many of my constituents to the company’s charitable efforts throughout my district, Ameren Missouri is a valued and respected community partner.”

The Osage Energy Center at the Lake of the Ozarks is one of three hydroelectric plants within Ameren's generation fleet. During a typical year, the Osage Energy Center produces more than 500 million kilowatt hours of electricity — enough to supply the needs of more than 40,000 households.
