David Mason & Associates (DMA) receives POWERforward Supplier of the Decade Award

Company recognized by Ameren Missouri for stakeholder engagement and support of Smart Energy Plan project work

More than 100 vendors attended the POWERforward Suppliers recognition luncheon in late October and saw David Mason and members of his company receive recognition for their long-time membership and engagement in Ameren Missouri's POWERforward Community Action Network.

Mark Birk, president, Ameren Missouri, presented Mason and his sons Taylor and Spencer with the POWERforward Supplier of the Decade Award at the event held at 18 Rails, a new venue in the City Foundry district in St. Louis.

"David Mason and Associates has been a great POWERforward Supplier member and champion since the formation of our grassroots/stakeholder advocacy team in 2012," said Birk. "David, his company and his family have always stepped up in a big way to support the infrastructure needs of Ameren Missouri and our customers. I am honored to present this award to David and his team for their long-term support for energy policy legislation, their engagement as a POWERforward Supplier member, and for their support of our Smart Energy Plan projects."

"My company is extremely proud to receive this award," said David Mason. "We joined POWERforward at its inception and got engaged to support the updating of Missouri's energy policy laws. We supported legislation that would drive investment in our state's aging energy grid, but more importantly, we saw this as a way to create thousands of additional jobs and drive economic development in Missouri. Through our involvement with POWERforward, DMA's voice could join with hundreds of other businesses to help support the passage of legislation in 2018 and 2022."

DMA has been a foundation of the St. Louis community since 1989, but it also has offices in several other cities around the country. In fact, the company's business goal is to create and preserve the nation’s infrastructure. David and his team design and assess highways and bridges, buildings, sewers and tunnels, and electric and gas networks used by millions of Americans every day. They work on iconic projects – international airports, national monuments, universities, hospitals and medical campuses, sports stadiums, and so much more. LUZCO Technologies, another POWERforward Supplier member, presented the POWERforward Legislator of the Year Award to Rep. Michael O'Donnell (R-95, St. Louis) for his sponsorship of the 2022 legislation (HB 1734), which passed and is enabling the expansion and extension of Ameren Missouri's Smart Energy Plan beyond its initial 2023 expiration date.

"We wanted to acknowledge and thank Rep. O'Donnell for pushing his energy bill forward, even as it was amended onto a larger omnibus utility bill last session," said Chris Yount, director of business development, LUZCO. "His work on this important energy policy legislation is helping enable energy grid investments, which have also helped support the exponential growth of our company."
