As a committed community partner, Ameren Missouri works to educate community leaders across the state about its business, operations and the benefits of the investments it is making as part of the Smart Energy Plan.

The Ameren Missouri Regulatory and Legislative Affairs team put that education plan into action when it hosted a tour for the Missouri Chamber's 2019 Leadership Missouri Class on Friday, June 21, at the General Office Building in St. Louis.

The group of 40 business leaders, from across Missouri, visited the Emergency Operations Center, the Customer Service Center and took a tour of a nearby Smart Energy project.

"The trip to the new Cass Substation energized the group," said Gaye Suggett, manager, Regulatory Affairs, Ameren Missouri. "They were truly fascinated to see firsthand how we're building a smarter energy grid to provide more reliable service for our customers."

Leadership Missouri, the premier leadership development program offered by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is designed to enhance the leadership skills of current and emerging leaders through an in-depth exploration of the state’s economic, political and social issues.
