Ameren Missouri Donates Utility Trucks to Local Schools
Ameren Missouri Central Division Director Chip Webb recently handed over the keys to a 37-foot bucket truck to Jefferson City Public Schools. The company donated the 2011 Ford F550 Single Bucket Aerial truck to help the district perform regular maintenance on its 17 school campuses.
"This truck will continue to help our community in new ways," said Webb. "We live and work in this community, our children attend schools across the area, and it's always great when we can give back."
"Without this truck, we would have to defer some maintenance jobs or hire an outside contractor to perform the work," said Larry Linthacum, superintendent of Jefferson City Public Schools. "We are so grateful to Ameren Missouri." In addition, Webb recently presented the keys to a digger derrick truck to State Technical College of Missouri in Linn. The truck, donated to the school by Ameren Missouri, will be used to provide learning experiences for students in the utilities technology program.
"It's great to think that the students training with this truck now could be working as linemen at Ameren Missouri in a few years," said Webb, adding this will allow the truck to continue serving the community.
"Providing real-life experiences is critical to training students for their careers. Utility workers use these trucks every day. Students can now get the hands-on experience that helps bring this industry to life," said Dr. Shawn Strong, president of State Tech. "Thank you to Ameren Missouri for making this possible."
